Nadine Thompson is a strategic communications and marketing consultant with substantial experience in the arts and heritage sector.

I work collaboratively with organisations to tell their stories and reach their audiences through strategic communications, brand positioning and audience development.

In senior leadership positions at Tate, English National Opera and the Art Fund, and as a consultant, my work has covered promotional and fundraising campaigns, capital building projects, partnership development, advocacy and audience engagement programmes, corporate communications, crisis management, and brand development.

  • Through a strategic approach to communications, I help my clients to be more impactful about what they say, who they say it to and and when they say it.

    I often work with organisations on devising and implementing strategies which may include partnership development, owned-content development, media relations, PR and corporate communications opportunities, crisis communication, and stakeholder engagement.

    As part of my work, I enjoy writing for my clients and regularly draft reports, policy briefings, blogs and media material.

  • I regularly direct strategic branding work to help organisations better understand and define their work and values and to assess how these can be reflected through their visual identity and communications. I have devised and led internal and external workshops and surveys to facilitate this process.

    I have huge experience of managing and delivering specific projects with designers and digital developers such as new websites, apps, publishing products and tone of voice work.

  • I bring my communications, marketing and brand experience together to create audience development strategies. These may cover programming advice, ticket pricing, marketing collaborations, membership retention and communication content plans.

    My work includes competitor benchmarking, external market analysis and audience data analysis and I often lead audience workshops or advise on market research projects. I bring to my work an in-depth knowledge of the cultural and heritage sector.
